2.3M Worth of Illicit Tobacco, Vapes and Firearms Seized in Mullumbimby
Police have busted a major illicit vape and tobacco network operating out of Mullumbimby, uncovering a huge stash hidden inside local storage sheds and homes 🏠💨
At three Mullum storage units, officers found:
👉 17,000+ vapes
👉 1.8 million cigarettes
👉 62kg of loose-leaf tobacco 🌿
Then at two Mullum homes, police seized:
💵 $40,000 cash
🔫 Five unregistered firearms

A 27-year-old man was arrested at a Mullumbimby storage shed, while two men (24 & 41) were arrested at local homes. A 40-year-old woman later handed herself in at Byron Bay Police Station. All four were charged under Strike Force Franklin — a major joint operation between NSW Police, NSW Health and Australian Border Force targeting organised crime linked to the sale of illegal vapes and tobacco.
